The Information Department is mandated to provide policy guidelines & direction on all matters concerning media access to public information & information communications technology. The Department strives to ensure healthy relationships & to support the mission with the timely dissemination of information through print, electronic & digital media.

To keep the society well informed as access to information is declared as fundamental right under Article 19 and 19-A of the Constitution of 1973. It is our conviction and firm believe that only a well informed society can be able to take pragmatic decisions; cherish balanced views and encourage dissent & pluralism and thus play pivotal role in shaping up destiny of the nation and ensure a safe, secure and prosperous future of our posterity.
vision
To serve as eye, ear and tongue for a democratically elected government. Act as per standing law and laid down rules and procedures. To serve as a catalyst of change by disseminating timely information based on truth and facts and constantly strive hard to enhance level of awareness among the masses.
objectives
To serve as a catalyst of two-step flow of information by informing the people at the helm of affairs of public perception, issues and grievances and also inform the masses what their elected government is doing for their amelioration and addressing their problems/issues.
